Get Involved FSU

            As FSU students, we are constantly told to use a multitude of resources to help us in both our academic and professional careers. We are given links to countless websites that are resources to network, participate in RSOs, and apply for jobs. With the list of sites growing by the day, it can be hard to keep up with the neverending tabs on your computer. For those who are feeling overwhelmed, look no further than https://getinvolved.cci.fsu.edu/. The GetInvolved site is a one stop shop for potential mentors, CCI club events, leadership opportunities, and many more! 

Trying to join a CCI club? 

            CCI clubs is the place for you! This page shows all of the RSOs you are able to join that are under the CCI umbrella. It offers a great overview of each organization which allows you to go through and pick one that aligns with your passions. When you click on an organization that you are interested in, you are directed to a page with a description about the RSO, links to their websites and social media, as well as s short message from the president of the organization explaining what the organization hopes to accomplish. There is also a separate “Event” tab on the site that allows you to view a calendar of each organization’s event with a short description so that you can see how to participate.

Looking for a mentor? 

            Check out FSU Peeps! This page contains a comprehensive list of  FSU alumni around the United States who have a passion for connecting with students. These alumni work at companies ranging from the tech industry to the nonprofit world and live in several major cities across the nation. Whether you’re searching for a guest speaker at an event or a mentor to guide you, this page has all the resources you need to help you connect with them. All you need to do is reach out on LinkedIn!

Searching for leadership opportunities? 

            GetInvolved also has a leadership page that can give you some ideas on how to gain leadership skills for your resume. Many of the opportunities listed on this page are applicable to all students, so even if you’re not in CCI, you can use this as a resource to see what you can try out to gain leadership skills. These opportunities include ways to participate in RSOs, leadership development programs, honors and research programs, community service projects, international opportunities, internship experiences, and many more. Rather than jumping from tab to tab, all of these resources are available to you on one page! 

            All of this is only scraping the surface of what the GetInvolved site has to offer students. Though the opportunities mentioned here, and after a little more digging on the site, you will be building up your resume in no time.
